Mark P. Popenhagen, Psy.D., has joined the Department of Psychiatry at Dreyer Medical Clinic, and is seeing child and adolescent patients at the Clinic’s West Downer Place location.
Dr. Popenhagen received an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota in Twin Cities, Minnesota in 1993. He received a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in 1996, and earned a Doctor of Psychology degree from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology in Minneapolis in 2001. Dr. Popenhagen has hospital privileges with Provena Mercy Medical Center and Rush-Copley Medical Center. He is a member of the American Psychological Association’s division of Pediatric Psychology. Dr. Popenhagen’s special interests include pediatric psychology, pain management (acute and chronic), coping with chronic and/or life-limiting illnesses/injuries, palliative care, and end-of-life care. Donald P. Prentiss, Jr., M.D., has joined the Department of General Surgery at Dreyer Medical Clinic, and is seeing patients at the Clinic’s Highland location. Dr. Prentiss received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 1987, and earned a medical degree from Loyola University/Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois in 1994. He completed a residency in general surgery with Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois in 1999. Dr. Prentiss is board certified in general surgery. He has hospital privileges with Provena Mercy Medical Center and Rush-Copley Medical Center. Dr. Prentiss is a member of The National Medical Association. His special interests include complex hernia repair and minimally invasive surgery. Sharon Pytel, A.P.N./C.N.P., has joined Dreyer Medical Clinic’s Nursing Home Rounding team. Ms. Pytel received her undergraduate degree from North Park University in Chicago, Illinois in 1988, and earned a Masters of Nursing degree from North Park University/School of Nursing in Chicago in 2007. She was licensed and certified in 2007 by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Ms. Pytel is a member of the American College of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. |
