Dreyer Welcomes Two New Physicians

Sameer M. Mazhar, M.D. , has joined the Department of Gastroenterology at Dreyer Medical Clinic, and is seeing patients at the Clinic’s Fox Valley Villages and Highland locations. Dr. Mazhar completed an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 1998, and earned a medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago in 2002.  He completed an internship in 2003 and a residency in 2005 from Northwestern University/McGaw Medical Center in Chicago.  Dr. Mazhar completed two fellowships – one in gastroenterology and hepatology from the University of California/San Diego Medical Center in La Jolla, California in 2009, and one in advanced hepatology at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston in 2010.  Dr. Mazhar is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.  He has hospital affiliations with Delnor Hospital, Provena Mercy Medical Center, and Rush-Copley Medical Center.  Dr. Mazhar is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.  His special interests include acute and chronic liver conditions (including viral hepatitis and autoimmune liver conditions), inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcer disease, and colorectal cancer prevention.

Dipti Patel, M.D. , has joined the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology at Dreyer Medical Clinic, and is seeing patients at the Clinic’s Batavia location.  Dr. Patel received her undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb in 2001, and earned a medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine in Netherlands, West Indies in 2006.  She completed an internship with Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois in 2007, and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 2010.  Dr. Patel is board eligible in obstetrics and gynecology.  She has hospital privileges with Delnor Hospital.  She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Medical Association, and received a resident teaching award.  Dr. Patel’s special interests include primary infertility, high risk obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery, and adolescent gynecology.
