Mayur Saujani, M.D., (pronounced sa-JAW-nee), has joined Dreyer’s Internal Medicine Department as a Hospitalist. Dr. Saujani received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois in 2001. He earned a medical degree from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois in 2006. Dr. Saujani completed an internship at St. Vincent Hospital in Staten Island, New York in 2007, and completed a residency in internal medicine with North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York in 2009. He is board eligible in internal medicine. Dr. Saujani is part of the medical staff at Provena Mercy Medical Center and Rush-Copley Medical Center.

Dreyer launched its hospitalist program in 1997 to optimize care for its inpatients. Dreyer’s eight hospitalists spend all of their time caring for patients at the hospitals. Research has shown hospitalists can reduce hospital stay costs and length of stays while improving the quality of patient care and satisfaction.
