Dreyer Earns Nine Stars in the 2009 Blue Star Report

Dreyer Medical Clinic has earned nine blue stars, a perfect score, from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois in their annual ranking of medical groups and independent practice associations. The annual Blue Star Report recognizes contracting medical groups and independent practice associations that have documented high levels of performance in patient care. Medical group performance is measured in accordance with nationally based clinical practice and preventive care guidelines. The report is intended to help HMO members make wiser decisions when selecting health care providers. Donna Cooper, President of Dreyer Medical Clinic, said, “I am very pleased that we earned a perfect score again. It is an honor to be recognized because it is always our goal to provide superior care to our patients.” Participating groups earn a blue star each time they meet or exceed the target care goal in each of the nine reporting categories, including asthma care, breast cancer screenings, cardiovascular disease, childhood immunizations, controlling high blood pressure, colorectal screenings, diabetes care, influenza vaccinations, and mental health follow-up. |
