Serving the Fox Valley Since 1922
A History of Legendary Care

drdreyer_snowstorm_2 The traditions of expert medical care and compassion delivered at Dreyer Medical Clinic started with a doctor and his bicycle. When he founded the Clinic in 1922, Dr. John W. Dreyer already had a reputation for being an innovative general practitioner known for making house calls on a bicycle. His most historic ride occurred in 1914 when he rode to North Aurora in a blizzard with a dose of desperately needed diphtheria vaccine to save the life of a young boy.

When you start with that kind of dedication, you build a cycle of care that really lasts, as Dreyer's has. The vision that drove our founder drives Dreyer today. His legacy of progressive and sensitive medical care lives on through the team of doctors and associates working at the Clinic today who have pledged themselves to giving patients the best care possible.

Although Dreyer started as a partnership in a five-room office in downtown Aurora, today's growing staff includes more than 140 physicians, 60 allied health professionals, and almost 1,000 other employees. Patients are served at 12 different office facilities located in Aurora, Batavia, St. Charles, Oswego, Yorkville, Plainfield, and Hinckley. With annual visits near the half million mark, Dreyer's staff works as a team to achieve the best results possible for patients. (see Quality Reports )

Dreyer became an affiliate of Advocate Health Care in 1996, yet the multi-specialty practice continues today as a private, for-profit, fully integrated clinical practice, governed by physicians.
