Back to main Dreyer ADD Clinic page The objective of the ADD Clinic is to help children reach their maximum potential. Children with developmental, learning, and/or behavioral problems are often unable to experience success and have low self-esteem. By evaluating strengths and weaknesses, strategies can be devised to help the child succeed. The Clinic’s Approach - The diagnostic evaluation is the beginning of our treatment program. Parental involvement is essential to the success of children. Parents are considered an active part of the diagnostic team and have extensive questionnaires to complete concerning their child's history prior to the first visit. Older children have their own questionnaires to complete. Questionnaires are also sent to the school.
- Throughout the testing procedure, feedback regarding observed strengths and weaknesses is provided for both the parents and the child.
- An individualized treatment plan is created for each child that includes recommendations for the child, parents, and school.
Initial Evaluation: - A review of the child's history and a vision screen will be performed by our program coordinator – Marlene Erdman, L.C.S.W.
- A complete hearing assessment and evaluation of the child's ability to attend to auditory presented material will be performed by our audiologist – Linda Hardie, Au.D.
- Physical and neurological screening, along with a discussion of treatment options will be provided by the program director – John Blair, M.D.
Follow-up - After the initial evaluation, patients will be scheduled for 20-minute follow-up visits at 2 weeks and 4 weeks. During these visits the patient’s progress will be reviewed.
- After three months, patients will have follow-up visits 4 times a year as needed
Cost Fees are based on an hourly charge for time spent with the patient. Insurance will usually cover some of the costs of the visits. Please check with your insurance company.
