Today, more than 60% of all surgeries performed are done on an outpatient basis. This means patients can have surgery in the morning and be home later that same day.
The Dreyer Ambulatory Surgery Center, a joint venture with Provena Mercy Medical Center, was established in 1993. The 16,300-square-foot facility is located on the lower level of the Clinic’s Highland site. It is licensed, staffed, and equipped to perform dozens of types of outpatient surgeries, from arthroscopic procedures to endoscopies.
Dreyer’s ASC provides special services such as a Patient Care Coordinator to help prepare patients for their surgery day and complete any medical/legal paperwork, as well as a special program for pediatric patients that allows them to tour the facility before their surgery day to help them feel more comfortable about their surgery.
