Four New Physicians Join Dreyer Medical Clinic

Bina I. Mirza, M.D., joined the Internal Medicine Department at Dreyer Medical Clinic, and is seeing patients at the Clinic’s West Aurora site. Dr. Mirza graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1984, and received her medical degree in 1991 from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan.  In 1992, she completed an internship at Civil Hospital in Karachi before coming to the U.S. and completing two residencies.  Her first residency was completed in 1994 at the National Institute of Mental Health/St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington D.C., and the second was completed in 1997 at the University of Illinois/Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.  In 1998, Dr. Mirza was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  She also completed a fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, in 1999.  In 2000, she also became board certified in nephrology (kidneys).  Before joining Dreyer, Dr. Mirza spent six years with Lake Regional Hospital and Dialysis Clinic, Inc. in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Jerry G. Morton, M.D., has joined Dreyer’s Internal Medicine Department as a Hospitalist.  Hospitalists are hospital-based full-time, and coordinate care with primary care physicians.  Dr. Morton graduated from the University of California in Berkeley, California, in 1996.  He earned his medical degree in 2004 from the Chicago Medical School in Chicago, and completed an internship and residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago in 2007.  Dr. Morton is part of the medical staff at Provena Mercy Medical Center and Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.  He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Illinois State Medical Society, and the Chicago Medical Society. 

Jignasa Puri, D.O., has joined Walk-In Care at Dreyer Medical Clinic.  Dr. Puri graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1991, and earned her medical degree in 1995 at Midwestern University – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois.  She completed an internship in 1996 at Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital and Trauma Center in Olympia Fields, Illinois.  She then finished a residency at LaGrange Memorial Hospital in LaGrange, Illinois, in 1998.  She was board certified in family practice in 1998, and became recertified in 2005.  Dr. Puri is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.  She will rotate among Dreyer’s three sites with Walk-In Care – West Aurora, Batavia, and Fox Valley Villages.

Andrea A. Silver, M.D., has joined Dreyer’s Department of General, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery.  A 1994 graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, Dr. Silver received her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria in 1999.  She then completed an internship and residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, in 2006.  Before arriving at Dreyer, she also completed a fellowship at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  Dr. Silver was board certified in general surgery in 2007.  She is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society for Gastroenterological and Endoscopic Surgery.
