Three New Physicians Join Dreyer Medical Clinic

Steven W. Krause, D.O., joined the Cardiology Department at Dreyer Medical Clinic, and is seeing patients at the Clinic’s Rush-Copley Campus and Mercy Campus sites. Dr. Krause received his undergraduate degree in 1992 from the University of Illinois in Chicago, and received his medical degree in 1996 from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri.  He completed his residency in 1999 at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.  Krause completed two fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology, including one at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago in 2006 and one at St. James Medical Center in Olympia Fields, Illinois in 2007.

Dr. Krause practiced medicine in the United States Army from 1996 to 2003 at the Martin Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia, and the Wuerzburg Army Hospital in Wuerzburg, Germany.  Krause is certified in internal medicine and cardiology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, and has received numerous medals and awards for outstanding service.

Sudhir S. Sekhon, M.D., has joined the Hematology & Oncology Department at Dreyer Medical Clinic’s Mercy Campus site.  Dr. Sekhon is board certified in geriatric medicine, hematology, and medical oncology.  Sekhon received his medical degree from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana, India, in 1990.  He completed his residency in 1996 from the University of Illinois in Chicago.  Dr. Sekhon also completed two fellowships, including one in geriatric medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, in 1997, and the other in hematology/oncology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2005.

Previously, Dr. Sekhon practiced medicine with the Sterling Area Health Center in Sterling, Michigan, and Florida Oncology Associates in Jacksonville, Florida.

Kathryn Sunderbruch, M.D., has joined Dreyer’s Pediatrics Department and is currently seeing patients at the Clinic’s St. Charles and Batavia sites.  Dr. Sunderbruch received a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois in 1999 and her medical degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois in 2003.  She was board certified in pediatrics in 2006, and completed her residency in 2006 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.  She also spent one year as chief resident of pediatrics at Loyola.

 

Dr. Sunderbruch has been an active volunteer throughout her education including her support of Southern Illinois Hospice, asthma camp, and community health fairs.
