What is Endocrinology?

The pituitary gland, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands, pancreas, ovaries, and testes make up the endocrine system. Endocrinology studies the endocrine system and hormones. Every organ system secretes and reacts to hormones, but endocrinology focuses on the organs whose primary function is hormone secretion.
